I am licensed in Ontario for life and disability insurance. Unlike most insurance “sales” people, I view insurance first and foremost as a tool for a family or business to avoid catastrophic financial risk in the event of the death or disability of a key person.

Families with one or more breadwinners, a mortgage, and young children are often at the greatest vulnerability. And it is important for them to control monthly expenses. We almost always find cheaper rates than the “mortgage insurance” offered through banks, and with guarantees of payment upon death. (Bank mortgage insurance is underwritten at claim. Banks can sometimes find excuses not to pay claims.)

It is our normal practice to electronically survey the market to get a list of the best possible quotes. Our focus in most instances is cost-effective term insurance.
